this one...I so wanted to reply to Notablogger's question, that I decided to show what MFSJ and I made together.
let's call it the
Collaborative Bag Project!
It was one of those wednesday afternoon of boredom when the two of us were stuck at home...one little sad piece of jeans was saved from the bin and enriched with various bits of wanna-be-projects form years gone by (seriously!)
MFSJ knows what she wants, and is really picky about transferring into reality the idea she has formed in her mind. But this was fun: we spent some great quality time together: she complimented me on my skills, while she took on the role as main designer. It's the only bag she uses on a regular basis, and it's entirely hand-stitched.
The bag is lined with some vichy-patterned fabric which originally I had bought to make furoshikis.
The three apples are crocheted, and I had to work really fast to meet the demands of the designer: forgive me for not sharing the pattern, but I think I just made it up! the same goes for the green leaves... the crocheted heart does have a pattern, but my house is such a mess right now that I can't locate the piece of paper where it's scribbled. the cross-stitched tulip band was meant to be a bookmark, but had been sitting in my sewing box for a good 4 years!
MFSJ made the strap using a circular loom, although it took so long that in the end she asked if mama could finish it.
to close the bag, you need to pass the little ball into a loop and then tie the string together with the one holding the heart. it's all a bit complicated, but we are proud of it: the idea formed into MFSJ's mind and it was NOT easy to please her while I tried my best at translating it into reality.
I like how she TREASURED these lefovers she found, putting them together is such a lovingly-made article!
More recently she made some magnificent drawings, one of which we used for a special
card...one to announce a very different type of Collaborative Project!!!

qui...Not-a-blogger ha cucito quel fantastico cuscino facendosi aiutare da Peanut, suo figlio...e cosi' non ho resistito: dopo il Collaborative Pillow Project, vi mostro quello che la MSGP ed io abbiamo fatto un po' di tempo fa.
L'ho battezzato
"The Collaborative Bag Project"!
In uno di quei noiosi mercoledi' pomeriggio di poco tempo fa, in cui non si puo' uscire di casa, un piccolo triste pezzetto di jeans e' stato salvato dal cestino dei rifiuti e decorato con diversi tentativi di lavoretti che risalgono a parecchi anni fa (veramente!)
La MSGP sa quel che vuole, ed e' difficilissimo accontentarla quando si tratta di trasformare in realta' l'idea che le si forma in testa. Ma questa volta ci siamo divertite davvero: continuava a farmi complimenti, dicendo che sono proprio brava, mentre si calava completamente nel ruolo di designer.Che dire...un successo: e' l'unica borsetta che usa regolarmente e che sta sempre pronta in ingresso...ed e' interamente cucita a mano.
Il pezzetto di jeans e' foderato con della stoffa a quadrettini bianchi e bordeaux, che in teoria doveva servire per fare dei furoshiki. Le tre mele sono fatte all'uncinetto, e le ho prodotte cercando di non innervosire la designer, che voleva lavorare a tempi stretti: non ho fatto in tempo nemmeno a segnarmi i punti, ho lavorato cosi..."a mano libera"! lo stesso dicasi per le foglie. Invece il cuoricino ce l'avrebbe, la sua bella lista di punti...ma nel caos attuale in cui versa casa nostra al momento, ritrovare il pezzetto di carta su cui ho scribacchiato le istruzioni e' una mission impossible. I tulipani a punto croce sono su una striscia di tela aida che doveva diventare un segnalibro, ma che e' rimasto parcheggiato nella mia scatola del cucito per 4 anni.
La MSGP ha lavorato con il telaietto circolare per
fare la tracolla, ma dopo un po' si e' stancata, e cosi' mamma ha completato anche quella.
Per chiudere la borsetta, bisogna passare la pallina a quadrettini nell'asola sul lato opposto dell'apertura, e poi fare un bel nodino con la stringa del cuore. lo so, non e' facile ma la MSGP ne va orgogliosa: l'idea, chiaramente, e' sua...alla mamma non e' rimasto altro che affidarsi ai santi protettori delle sarte e degli inventori mentre l'IDEA diventava REALTA'.
che bello vedere la mia piccola rovistare nei rimasugli di altri progetti, e trasformare oggetti chiaramente abbandonati in piccoli tesori.
Recentemente si e' data al disegno, ed uno dei suoi capolavori e' diventato un
biglietto MOLTO particolare, un Collaborative Project molto interessante!

Questo e' il disegno di cui parlavo nel primo post di quest anno. Non e' bello? La MSGP e' proprio brava! Eppure, dopo anni di blog mi ritrovo a doverle cambiare acronimo: come faccio a chiamarla la Mia Semi Giapponese Preferita adesso? Prima era l'UNICA Semi-Giapponese, ma adesso se ne sono aggiunti altri DUE!!! La famigliola sotto il piccolo tetto piatto di casa nostra si e' allargata ad inizio anno, passando da 3 a 5. 
So, this is the drawing I was talking about here. Isn't it lovely? MFSJ is really good! Although I must say she's not My Favourite Semi-Japanese anymore...I mean, she is, but she's not the only one. Since a month ago, there are TWO MORE! The little family under the roof is not so little anymore, we are now FIVE!
